We’re thinking plaids, denim, comfy leggings and everything relevant for this cool day in Baltimore. Even the artwork featured feels like a warm sweater. Enjoy this fall friends!
Do you guys love Ellen DeGeneres as much as we do? She can do no wrong in our eyes, and her rug line for Loloi (link) has graced many a floors for our clients, and her lighting line with Generation Lighting is equal parts mid-century modern, fun and cheeky, and in this case…appropriate for almost any interior! I love the traditional shape of it, and I’ve been all over black lamps lately! Available through FCD at a great price too!
Feeling felty? These new works from one of our favorite rug vendors Loloi are finally available. We pre-ordered several, and they are trickling into our studio. Here’s one we especially love; made of rolled felt in super neutral shades. Contact us if you are interested in any of the pieces!
I would wear almost everything that Zara makes for kids myself. In fact, I want this whole plaid top, skirt, hat ensemble! Would be so cute for a fall trip to NYC. Knowing Zara, they have the matching adult versions. Go for it girlies!
Before I gave up meat, I used to love to indulge on Ikea’s Swedish meatballs. Now, Ikea has a veggie version, and I eat them all the time. I pop five of them in the micro for a minute, and voila, instant snack or meal. Pick them up at the checkout. While, you’re there, grab a veggie hotdog with pickled kraut. Also a fan!
I’m not a huge make-up person, but as I get older, I have to “try” to make it work. I keep these Glossier paint tubes in my purse and in my car when I need to quickly add a little color to my cheeks or lips. You can of course use them on either which is why I love them so much. I had no idea what colors to pick, so I read reviews, and chose the deep berry and brownish nude and I have been re-ordering those colors ever since. Don’t be scared by the deep color, when you put the color on, you dab with your finger and it blends in quickly without strong pigment. I use the berry on my cheeks to flush them a bit, and I use the nude to just add a transparent tint.

We are so lucky in both Baltimore city and county to have access to some really great vintage shops! Wishbone Reserve takes this genre to another level. Voted 2019’s “Best Vintage” by Baltimore Magazine, this cool store has so many amazing pieces in their ever-changing showroom. In addition to “found” furniture, you’ll find refinished works, art from our local community and even fun shopping and social events! One of my favorite things about Wishbone is the amazing styling of their goods so you can not only shop but be inspired! Follow them on Instagram for daily finds and event news @wishbone_reserve
Pictured above is the "June” (in Tall), but I cannot limit my love for Frye to just one beautiful boot. It’s like choosing a favorite child! When my husband and I were newly married, he wanted to give me a special gift for Christmas. I had been coveting a pair of mid-calf, worn leather, medium brown boots I’d seen Jennifer Aniston wearing in People (yes, Friends was still on the air and I also had the haircut). I was concerned about the investment, but a good friend said I would have these boots for a lifetime, and they would only get better with age. Almost 20 years later, I still wear them regularly. I’ve since added a chocolate knee boot with buttons and a black pair with exposed zipper. Splurge on these great boots because you will not be disappointed!
I fell down a rabbit hole of beautiful fabrics by Maxwell while sourcing for an exciting new project last week. This week, I’m dreaming of updating a first-floor bath with these beautiful wallcoverings! After I spent weeks removing hideous 80s-style mauve and teal paper from my dining room fifteen years ago I vowed to never again paper a room in my home. Well, these last few years have delivered so many unique options, I can’t wait to dive back into the trend. Not sure how to narrow down all the options, or introduce wallcoverings back into your own home? FCD can help!
Let’s face it, life is hectic! At FCD, we work crazy hours and juggle many projects in addition to families, friends and community obligations. Sometimes, it’s hard to focus on what’s important. That is where Headspace comes in. My physician recommended this app to me last year to help with guided meditation and finding my inner peace. Trust me, I am not misrepresenting myself as “Zen” by any means, but I have found this site to be so helpful when I need a little reminder to just breathe.
Maybe it’s the nod to one of my favorite artists of all time (RIP Amy Winehouse) or the bold close-ups of women that are beautiful and empowering, but I LOVE this collection by Kelli Ellis. With customizable size and framing options, these Giclee prints are truly stunning. Go BIG or in multiples for an impactful statement in your space!
Vintage meets chic in this lovely House of Hackney wallpaper sold by Anthropologie. I always love a good floral, and I would love to decorate an entire room with this, but, alas, I live in an apartment.
Another item I’ve had a crush on for months. What room wouldn’t be enhanced by this touch of whimsy? Plus, it matches nearly everything.
It’s in the title, ladies. These leggings are indeed Supersoft. They’re perfect for lounging on the couch or cleaning up the kitchen. Not my most glamorous pick yet, but probably one of my favorites.
My in-laws have an uncanny ability for gift-giving. It’s always risky to buy someone something scented when everyone has such specific preferences for smells, and I was nervous when I saw that it looked super floral, but the scent is incredible. It is floral, but it’s fresh and sophisticated, adding a little bit of luxe to the daily shower.
Another pick that checks all of my boxes: bold, striped, structural, and glam. It adds cohesion but still stands out in a room. Contact FCD for pricing and purchase!
