The weather was wonderful today in Baltimore. Sunny and warm with a crispness but as I sit on our deck, the temp is dropping rapidly. I have a blanket wrapped around me, and it is in the 50s! Although, my house is much colder hidden back here in the woods that everywhere else for some reason. We’re looking at warm coats and berets as we make our way into fall. I am anticipating the smell of leaves falling, firepits burning, and pumpkin spice everything at every place on earth. Why do we love it so much?
Flemming Lassen’s own words, be ”as warm and safe as a polar bear cub in the arms of its mother in the middle of the ice cap.” I think that sums up this chair pretty well! I want to live in it, watch long movies in it, die in it. Enough said.
I didn’t even know what a Dopp kit was until I went to Atlanta Market last year. Apparently everyone else does. If you’re not cool like me, it’s basically a toiletry bag. Don’t ask me the original, because I don’t know. I only know things like what a VSCO girl is, and that saying things like “low key” when you really mean “high key” and that you are “shook” by everything is very in right now. Anyway, now that I’m in the know, I snagged a bunch of these guys, laptop bags, and small purses from one of our favorite and oldest vendors, Erin Flett. We have the whole line available at a discount, and we have several of these bags in our studios! All of her tems are still all handmade in Maine from Erin’s original block print designs. There is nothing artificial about this brand.
Annie Selke is one of our go-to vendors for rugs and bedding but now they are carrying artwork, totes, lighting, and jewelry! We just specked this piece for a moody bedroom with gray walls, and I hope they go for it because I know anyone would love looking at this piece every morning.
Always Target! I happened to be there yesterday…running in to buy gifts for a cancer ride I was doing, when I saw this coat hanging on a t-rack, and I stopped in my tracks! The pictures don’t do this coat justice. It’s so awesome, just enough of the oversized fit, and plaidy to make my whole fall. I tried it on with a huge leopard scarf that was equally DOPE! I promptly purchased both and wore it around my bedroom for an hour wishing it was 50 degrees.
It was my husband’s birthday on Tuesday, and I didn’t buy him this, but I should have. We have a real problem in my house keeping chargers and headphones straight. Everyone’s stealing from one another, and losing both. With this guy, the hubs can fold it all up, and keep it all to himself in his laptop bag hidden away from thieves like us.
Finally, the Maryland weather is feeling seasonally appropriate! With dryer, cooler temperatures however my skin is flaking as fast as my tan is fading. This Coco Cabana body cream from Sol De Janero brings all the moisture my skin needs and has an inviting coconut scent that takes me right back to the beach! Until it’s time for sunscreen again, I’ll be lathering on this delicious indulgence.
If you are not following Gary Janetti’s hilarious posts on Instagram you are missing out! As the ridiculous satirical “voice” of Prince George he is a comic genius. And as husband of Hollywood stylist, Brad Goreski he has access to all the best gossip. I can’t wait to dive into his new book, touted as “rolling-on-the-floor funny” and “brilliantly observant”. Don’t we all need a laugh right now?
I’ve been in the market for a new fire pit to indulge my kids obsession with endless s’mores and hot dogs roasted over an open flame. This chiminea from Safavieh measures 18 inches wide and just over 40 inches tall making it a non-invasive addition to an already crowded patio space. It also happens to be pretty stylish! Love!!

I recently purchased a new living room sofa in a gorgeous grey. My walls for the time being must remain the bland beige we painted several years back. And I can’t find any pillows to tie the room together! So, I’m going to do what we do for our clients every day - order this beautiful yet affordable fabric from Tonic Living and have custom pillows made by our amazing in-house seamstress. Can’t find what you’re looking for through traditional retail outlets or already have a fabric you want to use to create a custom look? Let us help you!
We love Sugarboo Designs at Folding Chair and have used their Book Collection of Wall Art in several projects. Oversized quotes from some of our favorite authors make a beautiful impact in any space. I just love the above piece for a dressing room – who wouldn’t be inspired while primping next to the words of our beloved Audrey Hepburn? While this piece is fun and sassy there are so many wonderful quotes full of inspiration from authors like Maya Angelou and Roald Dahl. Having a hard time choosing just one? Add a second for double the impact!
My picks would not be complete without an item from Anthropologie. I would hate to disappoint my wide fanbase, so here is a beautiful handkerchief-hem shirtdress in deep, unique colors just in time for autumn!
Nothing says fall like a warm hat. This beret from Boden fulfills both form and function; the red border elevates it from simple to stylish.

Jen introduced me to Kerri Rosenthal (through scrolling through lots of her paintings ;) and I love her paintings. She evokes feelings of joy with her whimsical quirkiness. She has also expanded her talents into wallpaper, clothes, and other accessories. Check her out!
I’m searching for the perfect tray for my coffee table. This tray is great for a simple coffee table that needs a subtle pop of whimsy. Leave as is or deck it out in decorative objects (contact FCD for choices!)
