The weather is still hot around here, and so is our FCD 5 this Friday! This week we’re channeling summer with Rachel’s picks, going to modern elegance with Jen’s furniture picks, and looking at the whimsical with Miri’s picks. Enjoy these summer nights friends, it goes so quickly.
I’ve been all about abstract art lately, and David Kronen’s pieces have really struck me. When I saw this new collection, I paged through each piece and saved my favorites for future projects and maybe myself! If you’re looking for a reasonable art investment, Arte Maison is a great place to start. Everything is also made in America!
I’ve been following Kelly Wearstler since the early 2000s. She has a striking, unusual sensibility that has drawn her a cult following of celebs and Californians wanting to tap their inner 80’s maximalist. Her furniture line is equal parts thoughtful and outrageous. I say that because she pushes the boundaries of the silhouettes of casegoods and upholstery pieces. There’s always something very special about the shape or the fabric. Each piece looks exquisite from every angle. I’d love to use this exotic wenge desk in a masculine office with a wild wallpaper. Any takers?
Leo and Brad have been spotted from LA to London in their cooler than cool sunnies. Guys, if you’re reading this, we have something for you! These Oliver Peoples shades punctuate the Cary Grant style DiCaprio is always rocking. Now, you can too.
Of course there’s a voice-activated light bulb! You can dim and control this bulb from your smartphone or tablet, or just yell at it to turn off. That’s what I’d do.
This new piece is available through us in October. It’s a great option for a console or media set-up. The top is white marble but the oak shelves and mid-modern style of it make it less dressed up. Measuring 74”w x 18”d x 25”h, it is a great option for lots of different sized spaces.
Listen, I love a short skirt but when I’m at work I have to meet clients and prospects, so I keep casual but fun. This gingham check has all the summer vibes and can be dressed up or down for work or with friends after. It’s also on sale now!
Canned, carbonated, with a limey, sugary taste, this cocktail is perfect for sitting by the pool deck, around the table with friends, or on-board you’re boat. If you’re headed to the Eastern Shore of MD this weekend for the White Marlin, you’ll want to pack a cooler of the popular Brazilian beverage while you’re reeling in!
Everlane shoes are a favorite in our office for their quality and comfort. Yes, they’re known for their loafers but these summer slides are a good bet for rushing in and out of the house, or slipping off from the sand! The price point is great too for this stylish shoemaker!
I’d love to where workout clothes for all tasks, but Jen will relentlessly tease me since she has a phobia of workout wear. I wear darker shades of leggings and sneaks, so this printed pair by Nike is cool because it feels edgey yet comfortable and wearable outside the office. Next install, I’m wearing these!
We got these sari balls for a client’s kitchen table and I became obsessed. We ordered a few extra, and I snatched them up for myself. Available through FCD, they are a great addition to any table or console. WARNING: they’re big!
The silhouette of this skirt is so graceful and fun. Plus, white in the summer is always refreshing, and a perfect backdrop for bright accessories.
This. Lipstick. I wear it mostly everyday, and it stays on the entire day. It goes on smoothly, even over chapped lips, and dries within a few minutes for a rich, matte color that - did I mention - lasts all day.
I love these striped inlay obelisks. They’re everything I want in home accents - structural, striking, and stripes. The interesting shape definitely makes them stand out.
Trader Joe’s just has the best snacks. These little chocolate bars are only 100 calories each (which would be great if I was just eating one, but I’m afraid it’s almost impossible). They’re great to grab for a little pick-me-up in the afternoon.
I’ve had a crush on this rug for months. Whenever I’m on the Anthropologie site (which is a lot) I just go and stare at it admiringly for a minute. The distinct shapes contrasted against the dip-dyed blue wash of color just makes this a show-stopping rug.
